iphone 12 video totally blown out in FCPX

Video shot on iphone 12. Looks fine in Premiere and Resolve and VLC and any other video player, maybe a little washed out. But, I drop it into FCPX and it looks like this. Completely blasted blown out. What gives? Anybody know why this is?
Because it’s shot in HDR.

Ah ha! I had no idea about any of this. Thanks for your response, Jeremy. I’ll try out that technique the guy shows in the video this weekend.
