  • iPad video in Final Cut & DVD SP

Recently purchased an iPad and shot a video with it.

    Final Cut Pro
I dropped the video in FCP and the only problem I found was the audio was slightly out of sink with the video.

    DVD SP
I then tried to put the mov file that was made from the iPad into DVD SP and it told me incompatible format.

    What am I doing wrong?

Yes shooting video with an iPad. Without going in to all the details, sometimes this is all I have with me. With so many people using their phones, cameras, etc to shoot stills and videos now, it is much easier to get what I need without having to breakout a high dollar rig.

So back to the question, do you know what my problem is?

    Jim,

First let us know the codec, frame size and frame rate that the video file says. I’m not familiar with the specifications that the iPad records in, but I would convert the .mov file to ProRes and edit your video with that. Once you are finished, export a self-contained video file, go to compressor and choose one of the DVD presets and then take the two files from that into DVDSP.
