Have an older AJA io/la on a G5 in a stand alone suite at the moment. Want to use that G5 for something else and put the io/la in the machine room as a dedicated analog digitizing station and dub out machine.

Machine room is small both in actual room size and available rack space. Would love to install a Xserve there and use it with the io/la for digitizing/dubbing as well as for near off-line storage and for other light duty server functions.

With all that said, any reason why a Xserve should not be used with io/la and FCP? It has firewire, enough internal space for our current storage needs, etc.

    Thanks!

i do know that the new kona 3x can work with the new apple xserve with the optional bracket from apple, i had not heard of anyone using an io/ioLA with it. i guess it could fit neat if you got the optional 1/2 rack mounts for them.
