    Hi Jannik,

Could it be that you’ve selected a comp instead of footage?

I’m an advanced After Effects user and know the difference between a comp and a footage.^^
But you are right: in most cases such things are made by stupid little mistakes.

It’s hard for us to help when you don’t give any details, such as what kind of footage item you’re trying to interpret, what version of AFter Effects you’re using, what operating system you’re on…

I don’t know if your problem is related to this, but I do see that you’re running After Effects CS3 (8.0.0). We’ve released two updates for After Effects CS3. The most recent one is 8.0.2. If you’re not running with the most recent update, I can’t help you. I can’t waste my time chasing down something that might be a bug that we’ve already fixed in a publicly available update.
