Hey gang- I am outputting some video to be run on a loop from a PC to several LCD’s scattered throughout my clients office.

I was thinking using some sort of h264 compression to make the files more manageable and then looping them using VLC player or something along those lines.

I was wondering if anyone could share some input on how they have accomplished a similar task.

    Thanks!

Does the content need to run in sync?

If not, $39 DVD players from the local box house and individual DVDs authored to auto-run in loop mode would be a cheap and pretty foolproof solution.

Unless you want to do HD.

We have a lobby screen running every day for the last year off of a MacMini. It plays HDV files beautifully (cannot handle much more since drive speed is only 5400).

Also, cool because you can load the files for the loop over the network.

Don’t know much about PC’s though.
