need help. trying to finish out a project:

i edited together a piece using two formats – HD and SD video. they were rendered on a SD timeline using a 23.98 timebase (the SD footage was shot 24PA – DVX100A, the HD HVX200 @ 24PN). additionally it was cut as a multi screen edit with one to three clips at a time.

for the life of me, i can’t get a clean export. i’ve tryed several approaches – exporting as SD or HD, 23.98 or 29.97, printing to tape and then re-importing that, then exporting again. can’t get it.

PROBLEM: each time there are digital banding issues. some sort of field merge or something – jaggy verticle elements on edges and horizontal lines in motion interfering with a clean image.

anyone been through this or have any ideas?

    thanks a bunch…

Hello. Had the same issue. The only way I got rid of them is I put the “deinterlace” effect on all
of the problem shots. I believe that filter is under Effects/Video Filters/Video (the second one).

    Try that. Hope that helps.

cool, thanks mark. i had thought of that as an option but hadn’t tried it yet. the only thing is that it the problem was occuring when exporting a 23.98 timeline as well. i’ll give it a try.
