March 19, 2013 at 10:12 pmPresumably he’s jumped ship so he can oversee Apple buying Adobe 🙂

There’s nothing we can’t argue about on the FCPX COW Forum

March 19, 2013 at 10:46 pmMaybe it means Apple are actually serious about software for creative professionals after all. But everyone’s discounted that.

March 19, 2013 at 11:30 pmI understand that everything on this forum is done looking through the FCPX peephole, but I would assume that the CTO of Adobe covers a whole lot of technology beyond video editing that would be of interest to Apple to pursue on a many existing and new fronts.

March 19, 2013 at 11:50 pmYes instead of buying the company or intellectual property, they just hire the brains.
I know the CTO isn’t hiring the development teams but it is interesting.I heard Apple looked at the CTO of Avid but when he responded that he was interested in seeing the release of the new Newton, the interview ended.

March 19, 2013 at 11:58 pmThe guy is a cloud guru from what I read in other articles. iCloud gets revamped?
As far as Avid CTO – the past management of almost 5 years never believed in having a CTO. And when they did have one for a short time, he was laid off in one of the many unfortunate layoffs last year. Maybe the new CEO has a different view on the role of the CTO.

March 20, 2013 at 12:12 amAnd in case anyone hasn’t figured it out yet, there Apple and ProApps folks who came over from Adobe as well as people on the Adobe side who came from Apple. There are also former Avid folks at Apple and Autodesk. And so the world go around.
