Interactive Quiz using Encore.
Posted by A4poster on November 21, 2006 at 2:33 pmHi I am thinking of building an interactive Quiz using Encore. One of the problems I have is how to ensure after a correct answer is selected it goes to a random question instead of following a set path. Is this possible?
If not is there any software that could be used to do this (PC User).
Go easy on me, I am a newbie folks!
Cheers,

November 21, 2006 at 3:12 pmEncore doesn’t offer a random function, so doing this would be difficult.
You could set up mulitple menus with short duration (say 1 sec) that are linked to each other, but this isn’t truly random, but may give the appearance of randomness.

November 22, 2006 at 5:07 amEncore don’t support too many menus – up to 99
If you can to try INSERT menus you can get unstable work with chashes AEncoreFor your project try to use Sonic Scenarist with RANDOM/SHUFFLE functions, scripting and VTS managment

November 22, 2006 at 3:35 pmThanks for the replies. Still unsure what to do, the second idea seems the best but not keen on buying Sonic Scenarist for what is going to be just a spare time project.
PS, Can I add chapter points to a Menu? Or is it possible to add buttons to a Timeline?
Thanks again.

November 22, 2006 at 5:34 pmNo chapters on menus (this is just not possible in DVD-Video), and no buttons over timelines (Encore limitation).
Not sure what Frippy is talking about as Encore can work with hundreds of menus. Maybe Frippy is thinking of the 99 timelines limit, or 99 chapters per timeline? And those are DVD-Video limitations, not Encore limitations.

November 24, 2006 at 2:36 pmFrippy, I’ve made several projects in Encore with hundreds of menus. There is no 99 menus limitation in Encore.
