I have previously had an Intensity Pro and was impressed however
the two capture modes offered by the standard software did not
work with my Edius software ( mainly because these were proprietary
Black Magic software codecs). I am aware the Premiere and Vegas
both work with the Intensity card but wonder what modes ( IE, DV, uncompressed, ect..) the software mentioned will allow this card
to capture with? I have heard that others are using the Intensity
cards and capturing to different software ( IE Premiere, Vegas,,,)
and then being able to import into Edius with a known industry codec.
Any help with modes of capture available with these would be greatly
    appreciated..

    Thanks in advance…

    Hello Judd,
I think that your problem is that you want to use in your workflow solutions of competitors (Grass Valley would love you to buy their hardware):-)
Edius supports a lof of codecs, so choose one (Uncompressed or Compressed? Long or Short GOP? etc.) and then you will able to choose the right software to capture, among other NLEs or software dedicated to capture, that usually have additional features.

    Best Regards,

    Paolo

I am trying to find out what codecs say Vegas or Premiere can
capture using the Intensity card. I have the Edius NX platform
and have the hardware. It does not support HDMI or component in
( at least my version). The capture codec Black Magic uses is
totally incompatible with Edius software. I have had an intensity card and tried to import Black Magic compressed and uncompressed
into Edius, does not work, different compression scheme and frame rate that Edius will handle. Guy graphics and others have talked
about others using say Premiere to capture with the Intensity card in a standard industry codec , then later use this in Edius…
This works… The question I have was not your opinion of Edius
or it’s value , but what codecs , IE DV, SD, HD say Premiere
or Vegas capture with using this card… Please read the original
    post again…
