    I have recently begun recording seminars and interviews with some quality SD cameras and a small portable PC. Always looking for extra quality I was wondering if acquiring an Intensity Pro would give me an edge over the firewire method I am using. Thanks for your time.

    Hello Dan,
    assuming that you are capturing from Firewire into DV format, using an Intensity Pro you could improve quality capturing from HDMI or YUV (no composite or Y/C) using a better codec (4:2:2 color sampling and higher data rate).

    Thanks.

    Does that mean that I wouldn’t be able to achieve any improvement if I am bringing the signal in from S-Video or Composite?

    Regards;

    Dan

    You’re right, Composite bandwidth is very limited (it is very difficult if not impossible to separate Luma and Chroma without loosing a lot of quality), S-Video is better, but not better than Firewire.
    Best Regards,

    Paolo
