INTENSITY PRO – recording on DVCPRO device material from hard disk

Sure, SDI out of the Intensity to SDI in of the DVCPro. Or component video, either way.

Sorry, forgot the Pro didn’t have SDI I/O, but you can still use component.

However, I am now having problems installing the card on Win7. Although the installation goes ok, the device doesn’t appear in device manager. Any thoughts?

Are you installing the latest Desktop Video 9.1 drivers? I’m using the Intensity Shuttle, but installation should be the same.

-Install card
-Boot computer (it should find the hardware automatically and try to install drivers)
-Install Desktop Video 9.1 drivers
-Reboot

Then run Media Express to try a test capture.

Thanks, did it all, however – cannot see it in device manager. Media Express does not except mpg2 nor DV avi files. I will be (hopefully) using it to transfer material form hard disk to DVCPRO player, not for capture.

When you say Device Manager, do you mean Windows Device Manager, or the “Device” drop down menu in Media Express?

If the Intensity isn’t showing up under “Device” in Media Express, than yes, there is a problem. You’ll need to get that sorted out first.

If that’s the case, maybe in Bios the PCI-E slot is turned off, or quite possibly, the card isn’t fully seated in the slot. (I’ve had that problem a time or two)

quite a relief – I was thinking of Windows Device Manager. Media Express shows Intensity PRO under DEVICE pulldow menu. How come it doesn’t appear in WIN Device Manager?

I’m not sure, it’s probably hidden away somewhere in there.

Anyway, now you need something that will play back your files, and use the Intensity as the output device. Something like Premiere Pro CS5.5 would work.
