    Setup:
    MacPro
    Black Magic Intensity Pro
    FCP7
    * Access to another FCP 5.1.4 with a Canopus 110 box.

I have footage that is 1080p 24p, Apple ProRes (HQ). In FCP7, I am using this footage to make BluRay DVDs so have been cutting it into 23.98 timelines. This is working great so far.

    ISSUE:
What I also want in the end is a Quicktime file that is a Standard Def DV NTSC file with the PROPER 3:2 pulldown added back in. Its my understanding that FCP can not simply render this out – even with the Intensity card installed. (If I am wrong, please let me know as well as a fix.) However, since I do have access to another FCP system, is there a way to output my HD sequence through the Intensity Pro Card and capture it in the other FCP system that has the Canopus 110 box? If not, what other solution is there?

    Thanks
    Doug

    Hi Doug,

Try this. In FCP’s Video Playback menu, select the 1080p23.98->59.94 option.

Then go into the Blackmagic preferences in System Preference and turn on the down conversion option.

This will then output your timeline as NTSC with the correct pulldown. Simply use the other machine to recapture this machine’s output.

    regards
