  • Intensity Extreme via 2nd monitor thunderbolt?

We are purchasing a Blackmagic Intensity Extreme for HDMI playback to a TV with Adobe Premiere. System is an iMac running 10.8 with 2 thunderbolt ports. Both thunderbolt ports are occupied by a raid and a second Mac monitor. The 2nd monitor has the ability to daisy chain thunderbolt. The question is:

Can I use the Intensity Extreme through my 2nd monitor’s daisy chain thunderbolt port to send video from Adobe Premiere to an HDTV?

Potentially yes but likely not the ideal choice since the monitor will have to maintain the data stream increasing latency. Can you not chain off the storage?

I found you’re better off to daisy chain the monitor off the storage and give the intensity it’s own thunderbolt port. That’s what I’m doing with an old acer daisy chained off a pegasus raid for bin monitor. And I have the ultra studio express plugged into the second iMac TB port.
