    Insufficient disk space Media Composer 6.x

    Dell Latitude laptop
    Third party Firewire card (2 ports)

    No issues capturing from Sony HVR-HD1000U until
    recently, despite system indicating plenty of room
    on disk remains.

    are you capturing hd or sd

    I had problems using that camera as a deck to avid, constantly dropping out etc.
    started using hdvsplit with better resulyts.
    using a proper deck improved 100%

    Doesnt explain the disc space issue though

    Though the camera does have HDV capability, I usually shoot SD.
    Initially, I powered the laptop up/down with the camera several times and got the same message. Then I powered both down overnight, turned on this morning and it’s capturing fine now. Who knows. But thank you for responding.
