installing premier pro 2
I’ve been trying to install premier pro 2.
I started a thread earlier, but it was never resolved.
I already have 1.5 installed, and as I understand it, 2 is a parrallel install, not an over install.
I have transferred the install files to my hard drive.
It’s actually an ISO image mounted on a virtual drive.
I did this, because it was recommended that I transfer the files from the install dvd to my hard drive. I tried to just copy the files, but for one reason or another, I kept getting error messages when I did that.
Now, when I try to install, I select English, I see a brief flash of “preparing to install”, then nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. -

Got to suspect a bad disc or faulty DVD reader. Try copying the files from the DVD to the hard drive on another PC and then Contact Adobe support for replacement.

I should’ve posted this sooner, but the problem has been solved.
There was nothing wrong with my DVD or my reader.
As it turns out, the installation of Premiere Pro 2 is VERY susceptible to conflicting with other software on your pc.
Long story short… I ended up having to pretty much re-install my OS, thereby wiping the slate clean, as it were.
As soon as I was dealing with just Premiere Pro 2, it took off and installed like a champ.
It was a fairly tedious process, but well worth the effort.
And I lived happily ever after!
