Installing FCS2 on MBP
Posted by Michael Sacci on August 23, 2007 at 12:53 amI’m trying to install FCS2 for real on my MPB and it keeps quitting before the first disc is done. I have installed FCS2 about 5 or 6 times on different systems and spare drives to test out and this is the first time any problems, any idea what could be wrong.

August 23, 2007 at 2:55 am15 GB after unchecking the media files.
But I hooked up my backup drive and installed it just fine on it and it only had about 9GB and it installed fine.

August 23, 2007 at 1:29 pmI always repair premissions before going a major installed, went ahead a did it again – didn’t help.
Also tried removing the receipts like the article said, didn’t help either.

August 23, 2007 at 1:35 pmHow does it quit? Are you sure you are not wating long enough?
It took forever to install on my MBP. At one point it seemed as if it was hung up, but in reality it was just thinking/copying and it eventually spit out the disk and continued.

August 23, 2007 at 2:53 pmIt installs some of the stuff on the first disc (have tried other disc) and then says install failed try again.
Like I said if I hook up an external FW drive and boot off it I was able to install the software on that.

August 23, 2007 at 3:50 pmThat is just a scary thought.
What the install to see where it quits and it seems to go through almost everything until it is zipping through the Support files and gives me the failed try again.
Some of the apps work – Qmaster, Cinema Tools, DVDSP and Livetype
the apps that don’t even launch are Qadmin, Colot, FCP, Motion and STP, then Compressor launches but quits before finishing.
It has to be something about the internal drive since I can install FCS2 on this system using an external drive.
