Download and install the latest version which is 8.0c and then see
if this pops up again during installation…but make sure
first that all files and folders pertaining to sony vegas
    are properly un-installed and deleted.

I’ve tried 8.0c and the same thing happens. When I run a search for vegas nothing comes up, so I’ve deleted everything I can.

What system software do you have running on your PC? I used to use Restore It and I loved the program but it caused Sony Vegas to not install! Apparently it was trying to backup the files as they were being installed because it monitors changes to your PC.

Try stopping all other programs on your PC. Stop your antivirus and any other monitoring software and then try the install again.

Yeah, that may be it, although when I installed Platinum Pro it wasn’t a problem that I had several other programs running, I’ll try that tonight.
