Input Ref Video Signal from AJA io to Sony Betacam UVW-1800
I am attempting, for the first time, to record video from my AJA io to a Sony Betacam UVW-1800, and I keep getting sync errors from the betacam.
I have read a number of previous posts regarding the issue of getting sync into a UVW-1800, and I’ve tried the work-arounds – such as taking the composite signal from the I/O and sending it to the Video Input of the UVW-1800 with a loop into Ref Video Input – but I’m still getting error of “Input a Ref Video Signal.” (Initially the beta deck was displaying Error 94 – not 93 – but now it is simply displaying the error mentioned previously.) I tried taking the Loop out of the AJA, into a Hortia BG-50 (and, yes, I know it doesn’t create its own blackburst, but both AJA and Horita told me that wouldn’t be necessary) and then taking the output into the betacam but it still doesn’t work… I am at a loss. I’ve read the UVW-1800 manual, my AJA manual, my Horita manual. There must be something quite simple that I have overlooked. Does anyone have any ideas?
