Anyone using an Infortrend 4 GB fibre Raid with a Mac Pro?
I have a brand new 12TB Raid using the new 1TB Seagate SAS drives and an Apple 4 GB fibre HBA. The Raid is fast enough for uncompressed 444 with just one channel. I like it and want to continue using it but one thing I can’t just let go. After the Raid gets 2TB or so of clips transfered to it, (from my old X-Raid) Disk Utility will no longer verify the Raid. It always gets stuck at “checking catalog” and will not finish. Before I put all these clips on the Raid it verified just fine. It seems the Infortrend will timeout and stop responding when the amount of files are more than just a few. There also is nothing wrong with all these clips, they play just fine. But I no that down the road I might need to repair the Raid with Disk Utility or Disk Warrior.

If anyone has experience with Infortrend on Mac please chime in.

    Thanks

    Pete

We’ve never had issues with Infortrend RAIDs. We Verify and Repair without issue. Might be some of your RAID settings.
