Hello,
I have just completed a project and I am searching for the best way to export for the final product, which is DVD. The whole project was shot P2 (24p), edited on FCP 5.4.1 and I have a Kona 2 card. I have heard that the cleanest/fastest way to get this project out to DVD is to dump the project using the downconversion of the card to a deck (like a BetaSP deck) and then re-ingest back into FCP (10-Bit), then use Compressor for the final compression for DVDSP.
(1) Does that sound accurate?
(2) Will the times bases conflict going from 23.98 (from FCP timeline) to 29.97 (BetaSP deck) back to 29.97 (into FCP timeline)?

No. There is no issue whatsoever in exporting a self contained QT file using the sequence settings. Take that into Compressor and use the DVD BEST settings for your timing. Keeps the frame rate at 23.98 and looks great.

Not really, the capture card will add the proper pulldown. It is just a completely unnecessary step.
