I have some questions regarding guides, if possible can you help me with both of them? Thanks

Im using InDesign CS4, and im using a template from the Indesign>6.0>Community Newspaper templates.

    1. Im using “Newspaper.indt” template which has a bunch of blue lines behind the text and i dont know how to get either toggle it on or off, or have the option to get rid of it. I just dont want to have it show when i export to PDF.

    2. I have a similar issue with my guides. When i drop a guide its like light blue. I dont want it that color because its so bright. I have tried to change the color of the guide under the preferences options but nothing changes the color.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
