I put 8 WD Red 2 TB drives in a Xyratex 1603 SATA box and connected it to an LSI 8888ELP under Windows 7. After creating a RAID0 single GPT partition I am getting read/write speeds less than 6 MB/s.

If I create a RAID0 array using a single drive, I get the expected speed of 100 MB/s+.

I am using Write Thru since I do not a BBU. Latest drivers installed.

    What could be wrong?

Is the block size too small for the files you’re writing?

    Hi Ron,

If you would be interested in purchasing a support contract, I could have one my engineers call, and we could check in out stockpile of .lod files and see if we can find what you are looking for. We have been distributing and services xyratex for years now, so we might be able to help with your old 1602 drives.
