increasing the colour of eyes without effecting the rest of the image
hi
i have 10 3 second video clips of close ups of peoples eyes. i want to desaturate the skin so that it is almost black and white, and then boost the natural colour of the eyes so that the clours are really vibrant.
any help with how to do this with after effects would be great. please keep in mind i know almost nothing about how to use it!

If the eyes are moving around and blinking this might involve some rotoscoping. However I would start first with the Leave Color effect. Select the eye color and crank up the Amount to Decolor. You’ll also need to adjust the Tolerance and Edge Softness.
Then apply Hue/Saturation to the layer and start nudging up the saturation. If your footage is DV/NTSC you won’t be able to push this very far before your color starts to get noisy and breakup.
Then Go back to Leave Color and readjust the Amount to Decolor until you strike a nice balance.
I think if your actors are lit fairly evenly this may work.
