  • Increaseing speed of clip on timeline makes it freeze on frame

Posted by Chip Douglas on July 30, 2008 at 3:44 pm

I am editing HDV1080i60 footage on FCP 5.0.1.

When I changed the speed of a clip on the timeline it will play a portion of the clip at new speed and then it freezes on a random frame from the clip and holds it until clip is done playing. Any ideas??

Have you rendered the sequence prior to viewing playback?

    Hi Chip?
How are you changing the Speed?
    Setting a constant speed value?
Or are you tweaking the Retiming in the motion window?
