In-Marks from the Twilight Zone
I’ve been working successfully for about a week with YouTube clips, converted to ProRes. In the last few days (and several times today) I’ve encountered situations where I place an In mark on a clip in the Viewer and when I edit it into a sequence, the first frame of that clip is entirely off (bet 1 and 3 sec). Parked on a frame in the Timeline I match back to the source clip – again entirely different frame!
I’m pretty sure I’ve encountered this from more than one master clip.
It gets stranger – in trim mode the first frame of a clip is see is different than what I see when I play it back in the seq or park in the first frame of that shot in the Timeline. There’s more – but would a minor mismatch in the src/rec frame-rate do this? I’ve worked with FCP a good amount in the last two years and have never encountered this. To say the least it makes editing *really* hard. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
Best,
Paul
