  • Impressive liquid wash effect, in AE?

    Hello
    At about 0:54 in this very nice video;
    https://vimeo.com/album/3344831/video/7189740
    They are “washing” text with liquid.
    I assume it can be achieved with a real liquid layer that will also distort the text. And also kind of bursting/exploding the text while washed, for that impressive spreading….
    I was stunned and was curious if there is a recommended/known technique for such look.
    Any thought would be appreciated.

    That video is in a private album – we can’t see it without a password.

    They probably shot a real plate with the text washing away and comped that in.

    edit: Yup. “all the liquid stuff is real footage. no particles at all.”

    I agree with Tero – most definitely a practical effect: real print, real liquid.
