Ok, it’s been a couple of days I’ve spent trying to render as simple as possible and it does not work at all.

I’ve finished editing a video of 2 minutes, shot in HD with the Nikon d300s. I’ve set the all the hd settings in the Properties tab. The first time I’ve rendered it I got two files, one who weight 6,5G and was 19 seconds of black. I downloaded ffdshow, Virtual Dub, many Xvid and DivX codecs to reduce the file size without touching the hd quality. But everytime, and it happened with every codec downloaded, Sony Vegas crashes.

I really don’t know what I should do, I’ve read many posts related on forums and I found nothing. Many thanks in advance, I hope that someone can help me.

What file format did you render out as ?

I always use either .mov or .mpg/.mts as i find the file sizes are always decent and it doesnt touch the quality

I.m not familiar with your camera or it’s Codec’s, but if you’re using Vegas 9.0c with Quicktime 7.6.2, getting black output is a known issue. Upgrade to Vegas 9.0d.

In fact, I’ve used Magic Bullet to edit my images, that’s why it will be so heavy and slow to render.

I choosed .avi. The codecs that I’m talking about are not the one for the camera itself, I’ve downloaded them and I also don’t use Quicktime.
