Importing/Caturing footage
I have a Sony TRV22 that is standard def and records on a miniDV tape.
I would like to import/capture the footage using Sony Vegas 7.
When I plug the firewire/IEEE1394 cable into the camera and when I turn it in, it gives me an option to “Capture digital video with” with Sony Vegas, Roxio, Windows Media, etc.
I click on SV 7 and the program opens, but when I try to capture the video the capture screen says “Device Not Available”
I have look at preferences and settings but can not figure out why it is not reading the Sony TRV22 camera.
If I open it with Roxio it picks it up and imports the video.
I must not be doing something right or a setting is off and needs to be on.

Okay I figured out what was wrong…I needed to check the Use External Video Capture Device box in the video preferences.
And I saw it was not check at least 5 time…grrrr, I feel like I am I’m blind sometimes! 🙂
