Importing video darker

It seems Vegas doesn’t work well with xvid, I tried opening an xvid file I had and it also opened dark. Although, if you change the FourCC code in the file (information that says which codec it uses) to divx, Vegas will open it fine.

Download AVI FourCC Changer, then make a backup of your media you are going to be modifying (just a suggestion. or you could just save a text file with the original FourCC codes, to change back later), open AVI FourCC Changer and use it to open the file you want to change, then set the ‘FourCC Description Code’ to divx, and the ‘FourCC Used Codec’ to DX50.

So here is the problem in the drop down menu it doesn’t include those pointers 🙁
what a shame… do i have to install a codec for it? i remember doing this earlier with another program that had this software i think it was the divx codec has this included. lemme try that

Oh, no you don’t need to use the presets, just click on the text to replace it and type in those codes. It’ll work.
