  Importing Vectors larger than canvas size

  Hi i am a newb beyond newb and i’m wondering why when i import my vector layers (1200 pixels wide) into AE i can’t see anything past the canvas size in AE (Pal Widescreen). I wanna do a x-axis camera move across a the vectors but it just shows black (yet the wireframes are there for the vector elements). Sorry if its a bit hard to explain but any help would be really appreciated. Thanks
