Importing standard images/video into a widescreen project
I have a project with the following settings:
720×480 widescreen 1.2 pixel aspect ratio, 29.97fps.
I want to import some photos I scanned (and some I took with my digital camera). Becasue I know teh project it set to a 1.2 pixel aspect ratio, when I import the photos into Premier, I right-click on the file and click on “interpret footage” and assign the pictures a 1.2 pixel aspect ratio. The problem is when I do this, the images look stretched horizontally when placed into the composition.
Is this what is supposed to happen? Will the image revert to a normal aspect ratio when exported? It just seems weird working on screen with “fat” images!
