  • Importing square pixel image in Avid MC 3/ Boris Red 4.2

Posted by Steve Mott on September 30, 2009 at 3:03 pm

When I import a photoshop file(720×486) into Boris Red ver4.2 plug-in within Avid Media Composer (16×9 project) as square pixels, Boris lists the file’s native size as 720×486, but the import size lists 800×486. Why does Boris change the size to this? Is there an import setting to stop Boris from doing this?

    Steve,

What is the original size of the image before import?

    Steve,

It should be retaining the original size of the image…can you send it to me to test with?

    Hi Steve,

I’m assuming that you are importing the file directly into the RED / AvidFX and not pulling the image from the Avid timeline … is this correct? If so, then I suggest that you click on the face of the track that contains the image and in the Control Panel set the Aspect pop-up to “Use Project Aspect Ratio”.

Please let us know if this solves the problem.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Steve,

Haven’t heard from you. Any luck with this?
