    Hi,
I just started with a new Mac and I’m feeling quite shocked that I can’t view or import my video footage recorded on a Sony PMW EX1 HDV camera.
I’m connected the camera with a USB lead and I can view the files on the “untitled” memory devices that appear on my Mac’s desktop after I plug the camera into the Mac, but then when I click on the “untitled” folder to play the videos inside the BPAV folder… it doesn’t work,

The annoying thing is I can neither import the files nor even view them with Quicktime.

Does anybody have a suggestion at all? Much appreciate it..

Thanks a lot for your help, I installed XDCAM clip browser, but now I get this error: XDCAM EX Clip Browser cannot open files in the “QuickTime Player Document” format.

The thing is I have Quicktime X already installed (I think) but when I try to play the MPEG-4 video clips, I get this error: The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -12909.)

Is my Mac missing something here? Do I need n extra plugin?

    Hi Joe,
You need Final Cut 6.0.2 and the SONY Transfer tool.
This will allow to download and re-wrap the MP4 as editable QT files.
Search in the SONY CineAlta forum for a link.
    Cheers,
    rafael
