Importing Sony F5 MXF files to FCP 7
I am trying to convert Sony F5 footage, specs below, into pro res QT’s.
I had great advice from this forum regarding this and have downloaded the ‘Sony Content Browser’ to import them into FCP, and then planned to export to Pro res QT’s from there. But I can’t import them into FCP 7. (or X)clips are .MXF
format: XAVC intra HD
Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Video Codec: AVC intra Class 100thanks for any help with this.

I got the info that HD & 4K XAVC files can only be natively supported by Final Cut Pro –X. That means FCP 7 can’t handle XAVC files directly. There are two options for you:Upgrade FCP 7 to FCP X; Convert F5 XVAC to ProRes(What I need to do further searching is that if FCP 7 can work 4K ProRes beautifully).
