I’m new to Cinema 4D and was wondering if this is possible. I cut out a person’s head in photoshop, making it it’s own layer. I would like to bring that head into Cinema 4D, as an element. Then add the Extrude NURBS to it. My goal is to create a 3d world of 2D objects. If that makes sense. Is this possible? I have zero experience in making objects other than the preset cubes, triangles, circles. I would just like to be able to import pre-cutout (modeled) objects.

Make the head shape into a path. Make work path (think carefully about the tolerance, because you’ll get more points with a lower tolerance, less points with a higher tolerance, and more points means denser geometry in Cinema later on). Save the path. File>Export Paths to Illustrator.

You don’t need to go to Illustrator however. Photoshop saves it to a version of AI compatible with Cinema.

In Cinema, in the Object Manager, Merge Objects (shift-command-o). Find the path, get to extruding.
