importing .pct files
Hi,
I am trying to import a .pct image file into FCP 5.02 (and then invert the Alpha channel), but Final Cut does not recognize the file and will not import it.
Does anyone know how I can get FCP to understand the .pct file format, or convert the .pct file (perhaps using Graphic Converter software) and import the Alpha channel?

Why not convert the file to a 32-bit Targa file in PhotoShop?

FCP should not have trouble importing a PICT file…
Is there anything unusual about it that you have neglected to tell us? Is it Grayscale instead of RGB, for instance?

Pict is pretty much the format I always use out of habit. Works fine. Maybe it’s not really a pict.

I have only heard of problems on PC created files if they have layers, which PICT files don’t support anyway.

It is an RGB + Alpha .pct file in its original format

Thank you very much!
Converting the original .pct file into a Targa document allowed me to import into FCP, as well as reverse and isolate the Alpha channel
