  • importing Panasonic P2 footage into fcp from an external hard drive

I have been given an external hard drive packed full of footage taken from a panasonic P2 card and have been asked to edit a feature. Problem is, in FCP I go IMPORT>Panasonic P2> select the hard drive> select the individual P2 card’s info, then I get a bunch of thumbnail clips in the import window (and I can see the image of the clacker for each take). The problem is this: When I click IMPORT I get this error message “One or more P2 clips failed to import; probable incomplete or corrupt files”. So where do go now? Any help would be great.

The import process requires the .txt files in addition to the MFX files. Any import problems I have heard about has stemmed from some smarty thinking some piece of data was not necessary and deleting it. Are there any text files missing?

No, I have imported ALL the related files (the contents folder and the last clip as well). I am at a place wear if I can just make quicktime files I can at least VIEW the clips.
