Someone please help me!! I’ve been unable to get around this problem for over a year. I cannot get my FCP 6.0.4 to recognize P2. I downloaded the Panasonic drivers, and my Powerbook recognizes P2 cards just fine. But when I go into FCP>file>import, I do not have a ‘Panasonic P2’ option. I previously ran into this problem when I had FCP 4.5, and everyone told me I needed to get FCP 5 or higher. So now I’ve done that and nothing’s changed. Now I know you can just log and capture p2 footage with the camera in VTR mode, but that’s slow and it drops frames and I didn’t buy the camera to do things like that. If anyone can help me you’d really be saving my life on this. It’s driving me crazy.

It is now called LOG AND TRANSFER.

So now you go FILE>LOG AND TRANSFER. They renamed it because now it works with multiple tapeless formats, like AVCHD and AVCINtra and soon, RED.

GOD BLESS YOU! Thank you so much! I can’t believe the first response had the right answer for me. Also I watched your tutorial and you’ve got adorable kids. Thanks again, and have a great day!
