Here is my current problem in Adobe Premiere CC. I am new to this and doing Lynda.com for training and they covered the importing video from Panasonic P2 cards very well, but when I do the same procedure I can only see my contents folder with its subfolders such as video, Audio, Proxy,, Clip, Icon etc…

Furthermore, I only have the choice of “File Directories” under the “Directories View” icon and the rest are grayed out so I can’t see my thumbnails of the P2 card. It was recommended at Lynda not to just import the “video subfolder” in the P2 contents folder due to it causing generic errors during the import.

I did copy the P2 cards to my desktop several days ago and renamed the folder in order to have the files on my laptop prior to this training by Lynda.com. So why can’t I see the thumbnail view of my clips and then proceed to import them? Why is only “File Directory” available? Why doesn’t adobe recognize my Contents folder on my desktop as a P2 in origin under the “Directories View” pull down and allow me to select it?

    Help….

Media Browser. You do this thru the Media Browser, go directly to the items in the VIDEO folder, the MXF files. Import those. Via the Media Browser.
