  • Importing OMFI fileRate 48 into a 50 project

Can anyone please advise me on how to get around this problem?

I am working in UK on a short film.
I have all the rushes imported and ready to go.

Project set to 720p/50. Film was shot on a Red camera at 50 fps.

All rushes look good but I need import the audio from an omfi supplied by production.
I am having an error – ‘File Edit Rate not equal to Project Edit Rate, projectRate:50, fileRate:48000’

I am asuming the omfi needs to be remade with a frame rate of 50.

Can anyone please help with this?

    Thankyou in advance.

    Dan Crouch.

Open those OMFI files in a 25p project first, see if that works. Then simply open the resulting bin in your 50p project. You might want to consolidate these files from within the 50p project afterwards.

    Thanks for the post Job.
I have tried that, but unfortunately, I get the same error message.

At the end of the error message is say’s ‘fileRate:48000’

Does this refer to the audio frequency, 48, 44.1 etc?

    Thanks v much in advance,

    Dan.

I have recently worked in a 720p/59.94 project and the audio would import, but the timecode would stop counting halfway through the clip. The fact that the OMFI cannot import in either a p50 or p25 leads me to believe there is an issue with the OMF itself, can you try a good old PAL 25i and see if it works there? Can production create a BWF instead and try that?
