importing OMF2 from Heavyworks to ComposerAdrenaline

May 2, 2005 at 3:39 pmI’m trying to import a OMF2-audiofile, created on a Heavyworks 25iPal-project – into the composer 25iPal-project. It imports the file and than says it’s NTSC that can’t be used in a 24p-project!
Any clues on how we can get this importing to work?

May 3, 2005 at 12:46 amYikes! As with any file format, it is a matter of finding out if it is part of the export from Heavyworks causing the problem, or is it on the import side of things. Have you tried just a single clip as OMF2 to narrow it down?

May 3, 2005 at 1:17 amFirst of all, what “Composer” are you referring to? Mac based? PC based? Software rev. etc.
Secondly, you mention that that you’re attempting to import a PAL Heavyworks OMF into a PAL Composer project, but you say the error message contains a reference to “24P”?
Are you importing this into “Video” based project or a “Film” based project?
And just for reference, most likely the problem is with the HeavyWorks OMF EXPORT, not the Avid IMPORT.

May 3, 2005 at 6:23 amThanks for the quick replies,
It’s a PC-based ComposerAdrenaline 2.0.3,
and it’s a video-project.I’m also assuming that the problem would be on the Heavyworks-side, but i believe that it used to work fine on older Avids, i’ll give that a try to make sure.
The only working method so far is sending it trough digitranslator to protools and back to OMF – export in to the Avid, but then we loose all of our fades.
