I’m trying to import a OMF2-audiofile, created on a Heavyworks 25iPal-project – into the composer 25iPal-project. It imports the file and than says it’s NTSC that can’t be used in a 24p-project!

Any clues on how we can get this importing to work?

Yikes! As with any file format, it is a matter of finding out if it is part of the export from Heavyworks causing the problem, or is it on the import side of things. Have you tried just a single clip as OMF2 to narrow it down?

First of all, what “Composer” are you referring to? Mac based? PC based? Software rev. etc.

Secondly, you mention that that you’re attempting to import a PAL Heavyworks OMF into a PAL Composer project, but you say the error message contains a reference to “24P”?

Are you importing this into “Video” based project or a “Film” based project?

And just for reference, most likely the problem is with the HeavyWorks OMF EXPORT, not the Avid IMPORT.

    Thanks for the quick replies,

    It’s a PC-based ComposerAdrenaline 2.0.3,
    and it’s a video-project.

I’m also assuming that the problem would be on the Heavyworks-side, but i believe that it used to work fine on older Avids, i’ll give that a try to make sure.

The only working method so far is sending it trough digitranslator to protools and back to OMF – export in to the Avid, but then we loose all of our fades.
