I keep trying to import large files into Premier but the whole clip won’t come in….thoughts? Shot on the XF305. Trying to drop on the timeline but the whole clip won’t come in. Just partial. I can play the clip through vlc directly from the .mxf so I know it’s there but premier doesn’t seem to recognize the whole clip regardless if I bring it through the media browser or import the whole folder.

My first guess would be that the clips are spanned. How are you importing the clips?

    Asus P6X58D Premium * Core i7 950 * 24GB RAM * nVidia GeForce GTX 770 * Windows 7 Premium 64bit * System Drive – WD Caviar Black 500GB * 2nd Drive(Pagefile, Previews) – WD Velociraptor 10K drive 600GB * Media Drive – 2TB RAID0 (4 – WD Caviar Black 500GB drive) * Matrox MX02 Mini * Adobe CC * QuickTime 7.7.5

Same problem whether I bring them in through the media browser or import the contents folder directly to the project window.

Can you confirm if they are spanned clips? What is the file size? The fact that you say they are ‘large’ leads me to think that they may be spanned.

I just had the same issue. Turns out there is another MXF file in your Media Cache and it’s pulling the incorrect timing from that. Close Premiere, delete your Media Cache and Media Cache Files folders (do NOT use the Premiere interface, use Explorer or Finder and manually delete the FOLDERS). Reopen Premiere, import that file. It should now show up correctly.
