I have some Canon C300 MXF files that I need to import into FCP 6.0.6

These files were recovered from a corrupt card, so I don’t have any of the directory files or folders, just the MXF files.

Are there any free ways to get them into FCP? Or will I have to spring for a converter?

Your best bet is software that allows your computer and FCP to read the MXF files…Calibrated MXF Import would be what I’d recommend.

Unsure if the MXF format the C300 records is something FCP 6 can work with. But if you can see the footage, you might see if you can import it, and if you can, then use the MEDIA MANAGER to convert this to ProRes 422.
