As far as I know, fs7 media should be xavc which fcpx handles just fine.

How are you importing the media? Drag and drop or import window?

You said that you downloaded a Sony plug-in but FCP X can now import MXF natively. Could it be that the Sony plug-in is actually preventing FCP X from using it’s native capabilities?

I recently got a warning when FX Factory applied an update that I had an old XDCAM plug-in that was no longer needed and it recommended that I delete it so I did. Perhaps you are in a similar situation with FCP X recently adding MXF support.

    Try removing the Sony plug-in.

I don’t think this matters. The Apple plugin seems to be the exact same Sony plugin. Both of these rewrap the footage to .mov (a waste in my opinion)

I drag and drop XAVC material to use the native MXF and bypass the import window.
