Importing MXF file only audio gets imported but no video
So I am trying to import some MXF files into FCPX 10.2.3 and all I get on import is AUDIO but no video at all.
I can play the MXF files in programs like VLC just fine and there is video.
So what is the problem here? A missing codec? Normally FCPX has no problems with MXF files and I saw videos that it supports MXF just fine (even from other editing programs like Avid nowadays). We’ve filmed with a Sony FX7.Thanks a lot for any help

Solved: I had to install the Pro Media Files update under the update tab of OSX.

Can you tell me where to find / how to install the Pro Media Files update?
I can’t seem to find it and need to solve this as well.

Hi JT,
Pro Video Formats will appear as a software update in the App Store if you downloaded your version of Final Cut Pro, Motion, or Compressor. When you download the update it will automatically install the following items: MXF Reader for importing.
To get to the app store, click the apple icon in the top left corner of your mac screen and select “App Store…” from the dropdown. Then in the App Store click on Updates and update your software.
