Importing media files into FCP X
I recently got FCP X and Shot Put Pro. On a shoot I downloaded video/media files into my external hard drive using Shot Put Pro. The media was shot in the avcintra 100 format. When I tried to input the media into FCP X from the hard drive, following the directions, a window came up saying these files were not supported even though I know FCP X supports this format. I then went to the Apple Genius Bar and the guy there didn’t know why they wouldn’t import correctly but said to try importing the files through the import camera files function. This actually worked but took forever (I was recoding everything to Apple Prores 422 as they said that would work better in FCP X and I also had more media files in another format that I inputed in the same way). The problem is that there are some dropped frames but also the media has been broken into clips as small as 11 seconds and I know it wasn’t shot that way. The next clip will pick up the same scene but frames have been dropped between clips which is screwing up what I want to edit. Does anybody know what is going on with this or can help? To make matters worse I am learning both applications as this is happening and am on a deadline! Any help would really be appreciated.
