Hey Justin, I dropped that MOV file right onto my Vegas Pro 9.0e timeline with no other modifications (no rename or anything) and it played fine first time. Video and audio playback at about 10fps. Only thing is it made me hungry for peperoni pizza and an Arizona ice tea! lol
That’s some impressive footage for such a small camera. I might pick one of these up for myself.
The question is… why can’t you just drop it on your timeline? I keep a very clean editing PC. No code paks or any of that junk. I have the x264vfw codec installed but that shouldn’t affect MOV files. I also have Quicktime Pro but that shouldn’t affect playback either. Something isn’t right with your Vegas Pro setup if you can’t play that MOV file back right out of the camera like I can.

June 18, 2010 at 4:16 pmI don’t have the Quicktime Pro installed because I still need to buy it right? But I’ll play with my Vegas and find out what’s wrong. I’ll look at the codecs and stuffs.
I agree with the impressive footage from the Zi8. That’s why I’m not stopping from finding an answer to this issue. But I might buy the Zi6(older version) though. Because it’s much cheaper plus the SDHC combined. Much cheaper than the Flip Ultra HD.
I’m sorry if it made you hungry. I understand you. Try watching some Food Network and see if you won’t get hungry. lol.
