  • Importing images larger than the project resolution

I want to make a kind of slideshow with images combined with motion pictures and when i import the photos, they are resized to the project resolution even if i ceck before “Use the source file`s resolution” in OMFI tab from the Import Options. More than that, the photos are resized without keeping the aspect ratio. What can i do instead resizing pictures before import?

if you have the pan and scan effect then you can import any sized/resolution still directly form the effect editor and resize them to suit. Reply for more info. Otherwise…

the source resolution applies to avid rez, ie 1:1 2:1 etc, the relevant settings are resize, maintain etc etc. Not in front of avid right now, experiment, I believe there are 4 options in total!

Avid’s got a built in effect for moving around within larger than source res photos.
Do a search for Pan & Zoom.
If you aren’t happy with it, try Stagetools Motion Picture, or After Effects.
