importing HDV into FCP
Sorry if I am requesting a much responded posting. I am about to start a project shot on HDV with a Canon XLH 1. I will be importing straight from the camera with firewire. Do I log and capture in HDV or Pro Res? Storage not an issue but rather speed of editing and final quality.

I much prefer working with ProRes. Just remember, you have to manually add reel numbers in the browser, and recapturing is not really a happening thing, so just make sure you’re covered with a media backup or Raid 5 in case of a catastrophic drive failure.
