    Hey everyone,
starting a gig that is using mixed media and some of it will be HDCAM. Never imported it before and not knowing what to expect. They will have a deck and Kona card. How/what codec would be best suited to digitize? Will Kona have a codec, etc? I’m green here and any help would be much appreciated. I’m walking into this with little info upfront. Thanks.

Are you talking about Final Cut Pro version 2 or Final Cut Studio 2? These are two very different things.

Depends on what you want to output. The AJA Kona Boards can capture just about any format to just about any other format. Also, the version of the Kona board will determine whether you can Up / Down / Cross Convert the footage.

    Sorry, was half awake.
We are digitizing through Kona using Studio2. Didn’t mean importing footage into final cut, although that will obviously be the case after we digitize.
